On Christmas eve we went to Ronda. The drive from Jerez de la Frontera to Ronda is one of the most beautiful drives ever! You get to see the farm lands, the hills, the mountains, and lots of fun bull statues and white villages! My favorite white village we passed was Zahara, and I’m still sad we didn’t get to spend time exploring that village.
In Ronda, we walked around a bit, ate some sandwiches, toured the Moorish mine, and walked the streets in the evening as everyone came out after siesta and began partying, eating and drinking and talking and laughing, in their beautiful Christmas outfits. We definitely felt under-dressed.
Sadly the bull ring in Ronda – the oldest one in Spain! – was closed for the afternoon, but we walked around it and got to enjoy the views of the bridges/cliffs. Ronda sure is a magical place.
